ABOUT

Hassan Shaikh is a South African-born workplace strategist and global leader with more than two decades of experience shaping how organisations use the workplace to enable people, culture, and business performance. With a foundation in architecture and design, he has built his career at the intersection of workplace strategy, organisational change, technology, and human experience.

He leads global workplace transformation with a strong belief that the workplace is not simply a place where work happens, but a strategic platform for connection, belonging, and organisational performance. His leadership philosophy is grounded in the principles of The Ubuntu Workplace, which positions the workplace as a living system that connects people, strengthens community, and creates the conditions for individuals and organisations to thrive.

Across biopharmaceuticals, aviation, retail, hospitality, and design, Hassan has helped organisations navigate complex workplace transformation and translate ambition into practical, scalable outcomes. At Boehringer Ingelheim, he provides strategic leadership and governance for global workplace initiatives within Real Estate & Facility Management, helping align workplace strategy with evolving business needs, hybrid work, sustainability, technology, and employee experience.

His approach combines strategic thinking with the ability to turn complex challenges into clear direction and actionable outcomes. Rather than viewing workplace transformation primarily through the lens of space, Hassan focuses on the broader system around it, bringing together people, place, culture, technology, and change to create sustainable organisational impact.

Earlier in his career, Hassan held workplace strategy and design roles across Europe and South Africa and founded and led his own consultancy, Revolve, for more than a decade. Working across corporate workplace, retail, and hospitality gave him both an entrepreneurial perspective and a deep understanding of how to lead transformation across different organisations, cultures, and business environments.

Beyond his corporate leadership, Hassan has lectured in design and sustainability and regularly contributes to industry conferences and leadership forums across Europe and South Africa. He is recognised for making complex workplace and organisational challenges accessible to senior leaders, translating emerging ideas into clear strategic choices and practical action.

He is also the author of The Ubuntu Workplace, which challenges traditional thinking about the workplace and reframes it as a human-centred, adaptive system rooted in connection, dignity, belonging, and shared experience.

Hassan welcomes opportunities to engage on workplace transformation, the future of work, organisational change, and the evolving relationship between people and place.
